A fire extinguisher is a device used to put out or control small fires. There are four classes of extinguishers that put out different types of fire.
A,B,C & D
Class A - Puts out ordinary flammables such as wood and paper.
Class B - For use on ignitable liquids like grease, gas and oil.
Class C - Are for use on electrical fires
Class D - Are made for burnable metals
Some extinguishers will be labeled for more than one class.
To use is simple just remember the word PASS.
P = Pull the pin
A = Aim at the base of the fire from a safe distance
S = Squeeze handles together slowly
S = Sway nozzle from side to side
