Fire Damage Repair and Restoration

SERVPRO of Aitkin, Carlton & W. St. Louis Counties has Highly Trained and Certified Technicians

We use the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC) classes to help us train and certify our employees as "Fire & Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRT)."

Sometimes damages are not from an actual fire. Sometimes at the start of cold weather, when people start to turn on furnaces to warm the home, an event happens that can cause a big mess throughout the entire house. This disastrous event is called a Puffback.

Vapors build up in the ignition chamber as the person tries and fails to ignite the furnace. Once it finally triggers, a small explosion blows smoke and soot throughout the house through the exhaust system leaving oily black webs everywhere in the home. This malfunction can be caused by leaks in the oil system, bubbles in the oil, the shutoff valve may not be working properly or a clog in the nozzle. Physical damage to the furnaces internal heat exchanger resulting in cracks also forces soot into the heating system. It is important to know these common causes and to do routine maintenance on your furnace to prevent a Puffback from happening to you.

You can trust in our experienced professionals to help make it, "Like it never even happened."
