Smoke Loss in Northern MN

Fire and smoke losses can cause extensive damage to the entire structure. In this instance it came from damage from a burning mattress in the far back bedroom. The damage comes mainly from the smoke leaving soot all over the walls, doors, carpet, ceilings, and contents. Unfortunately, this can be extremely hard to clean if the proper process inst performed. Here is a great example from a job that SERVPRO of Aitkin, Carlton and West St. Louis responded to. We came into this home only knowing that there was a fire, the SERVPRO team knew just what to do and knew the first thing to do would be to remove contents and carpet. We can not get all soot contaminants out of the carpet and pad so  that is why we have to remove it. We do that first before cleaning any contents or structure. But thanks to the effort and extensive training our crew members have using the refined restoration process we left the door looking "Like it never even happened."
